Choosing the right dress for a
office Chriatmas party can be very important ,but it don't have to be too difficult to get right. Here are the 10 tips you need to know.
1.The first step in choosing an outfit is to identify the formality level of the event. The invitation will often give you a good idea – in fact many invitations will actually tell you if dress is “formal”, “casual” or somewhere in between.
2.The
Christmas party isn't a fashion show, so you'll need to perhaps think about what you're going to wear. You might have to tone down your outfit, or make a special effort, depending on how much fashion matters to you.Don't pick an outfit that will be on your mind all night. If you're worried that your skirt is too short or your blouse is too low cut, you won't be able to have a good time at the party.
3.Bear in mind that the Office Christmas Party is possibly not the right place to show off all your
tattoos or piercings, or political leanings with a clever slogan T shirt.
4.If you're not good at choosing clothes then seek help. A colleague or partner is much more likely to give you their honest opinion that a sales person trying to sell you something. You don't want to stand out for the wrong reasons.
5.Your Office Chriatmas Party is not your birthday, so there is no need to wear a color that is going to make you the center of attention. Bright, flashy colors should be avoided when choosing an outfit to wear to the company holiday party. The two exceptions to the no flashy colors rule is red or green, as they are both Christmas colors. Some other ideal colors include black, gold, silver, purple, and dark blue.
6. If you work in a formal environment, then you might want to choose a less formal dress code for your office party this Christmas. And if you have a more casual dress policy at work, then why not be more formal for this year's office Christmas Party?
7.When wearing a dress, it is important to choose the right cut. Not only do you want to find a cut which is flattering for your body type, but you also want to choose one which is not too revealing. In terms of length, it is important to choose a dress that is at least knee length. Also be sure to avoid a dress that reveals too much cleavage, as well as too much of your back and shoulders. Remember that a company Christmas party is still work-related, so you will want to keep everything that you wear appropriate.
8.Make sure that your outfit is practical. You'll be expected to dance for at least a little while, and you'll probably have to climb stairs too.
9. Try and make sure that your outfit is comfortable. Shoes especially are often the main cause of discomfort. Remember that you are going to be attending a company Christmas party. For this reason, you will not want to choose to wear sneakers, boots, or any other type of shoe that you'd wear on a "comfortable" basis. The best way to go is to either opt for a nice pair of
flat shoes or low pumps or wedges. It is best to keep it more formal, but also not with shoes that are too flashy or shoes that do not match the rest of your apparel.
10. Whatever you decide to wear, you are representing your company. You don't want to embarrass yourself or your colleagues or your company by turning up to an exclusive party venue, in an offensive T shirt and dirty ripped jeans whilst your colleagues and superiors are looking impeccable in dinner jackets waiting fro a speech from the MD,
No matter what you actually decide to wear, the whole purpose of the Christmas party is to have a good time, so don't let your Christmas party outfit stop you from having a great night.
